Family Campout 2010

Another reason why I love Bryan/College Station: The City of Bryan Parks & Recreation holds an annual Family Campout in a one of the parks in town. Joshua and I went last night...this was Joshua's first camping experience. We had sooooo much fun!

He loved running through the "bushes" as he would say...no fear! In fact at about 10:00 pm he wanted to take the flashlight in to the bushes, I said I was too scared. His reply: "I want to be scared too, Mommy. Come on, let's go to bushes." He also tried one of my tricks to motivate action and just said "OK I'm leaving now, see you later!"

Some of our friends from school were also there...they loved to play in the tents.

Yummy S'mores!

Good morning! Joshua got to have a chocolate "muffin" for breakfast, I am sure he thinks the Parks & Recreation folks are much cooler than Mommy as a result.

This was a successful first step to camping. Next up is some car camping in a nearby national forest....pics to follow soon. :)

100 Day Party & Heavy Metal Drummer!

Friday was Joshua's 100 Day party at school. I got to help out for awhile and saw Joshua in full school action. Here are some cute pics from that day.

He walks better in high heels than I do!

While some other kids were trying to get all 100 fruit loops on the necklace, Joshua settled for about twenty and then proceeded to go off in the corner and begin eating his :)

Later that evening we went to Tasha and Matt's for dinner and Joshua got to play on Matt's drums. Yes...that is right....DRUMS! Heaven help us...

Happy Easter!

We had such a wonderful Easter morning. Started off with a short egg hunt in the house, then friends came over for brunch and another egg hunt. The Easter Bunny likes Dora as much as Joshua does, so he got plenty of new Dora things along with more than enough candy.

A carrot that he will eat :P

The stickers were a big hit...J had to decorate himself and Mommy. He did such a good job...he even took the pic of me below.

His friend Hayden came over for another egg hunt in the back yard...getting the two to stand still was impossible...this was the best we could get ;)

Joshua has been pretty insistent that he should wear the basket around his neck.

Confetti Eggs!

ah....the sticker bug caught Hayden too!

By the end of it all, J was ready again to play with his new train stuff that we picked up from a garage sale this weekend...actually it was a garage sale that we were participating in...we took more toys home than we brought to sell...erg! He loves his new Geo Tracks stuff!
Happy Easter everyone!

Spring (& Easter Eggs!)

A lot of firsts this week...Joshua planted his first pot of flowers. He picked out the flowers himself and did a pretty good job getting them in to the pot. He also got to color easter eggs for the first time...he was pretty impressed by the fact that he could drop them in the water and make a mess. Auntie Tasha and I were impressed with how well he could get the eggs out with one of those medal dippers.

All around good fun...I am sure I will have more picks tomorrow from our Easter Egg Hunt.

New shoes and Mommy's shades= Happy Bubbies!
