Fall Fest and BooFest

Today was an exciting day for Joshua. His school was having their annual Fall Fest and field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Not only that, but Mommy got to go to school with Joshua AND he got to wear his PJs. As the pic below shows, he was quite happy having Mommy at school...

After some fun time tasting apples, we are off to the pumpkin patch...

"Here Mommy..."

We then went back to the school and painted. Notice the bite taken out of the apple Joshua is painting...Doh!

They put me in charge of the table where kids get to paint with fly swatters. Yes...PAINT WITH FLY SWATTERS! I must have had "sucker" on my forehead. :)

Joshua got to feel the "guts" of the pumpkin...he promptly brought the goo to me proclaiming that he was a mess...

This evening we were off to BooFest at the Ballpark...
a few others had the same plan...

we met up with our friend Hayden. In retrospect I should have put Joshua in his costume. Hayden in his Batman was too cute.

This one is for uncle Sam...

Trick or treating tomorrow....yay!

Fall Fest 2009

Mi and Grandpa came down to help us out this week. Joshua, who before this week had really not paid all that much attention to Grandpa, found a new best friend/train playmate in Grandpa. He would wake up and say "where is grandpa?" and even requested Grandpa's presence at bedtime. I told Grandpa, "be careful what you wish for"...hee hee :)

Mi and Grandpa left today and this afternoon Joshua and I went to Fall Fest in downtown Bryan. We met Shrek, did some crafts, played in a "train" and a race car, and had a snow cone...all good fun.
Joshua was convinced that the cones were hats....I could not convince him otherwise. You may notice in the photos from Fall Fest that Joshua's cheeks are really red and splotchy...no worries...he has some kind of viral rash. He looks just awful, but feels fine.

Joshua looked at this turtle and looked at me and said "It's a Mommy turtle"...all big things are "mommy" these days.

A Day Out With Thomas

Today, Joshua got to meet Thomas the Tank Engine...the real big Thomas the Tank Engine. We woke up this morning, put on our conductor cap and got on the road (Thomas was about 2.5 hours away). Joshua could not have been more excited...As you will see from the pictures below it was a great day and Joshua had so much fun.

It's hard to see with this hat on...

Pure Joy.

On the train, playing with one of two new trains picked out at the conveniently located Thomas gift shop...I thought he was going to lose his mind amongst all the Thomas stuff. (Thanks Grandmom in Philly...we used birthday money for this)

trying to wrestle with a toddler for a photo op is not always sucessful...

after riding Thomas, we played trains...for a long time...

and soon we got to mee Sir Topham Hat ...Joshua started with the hug...too sweet.

after Sir Topham Hat there was a showdown over Gordon at the train table, which led to our first and only full blown meltdown of the afternoon. Upon my observation, every toddler there had at least one...so we were doing just about right. Nothing that some ice cream and Mommy's lap couldn't fix.
Overall it was truly a wonderful afternoon. One that I will never forget and I am pretty sure he won't either...well at least for awhile :)
