Happy Birthday Joshua

For the final celebration of Joshua's birthday, we loaded up the whole family and went to a favorite Amarillo spot - Malcolm's Ice Cream. When I was kid, I loved the "clowny cones" and I thought it would be a nice small way to say Happy Birthday Joshua! Well...J woke up from a late nap in a bit of a mood, and as the picture below shows, he was not as pleased with the clowny cone as I imagined....best laid plans, right :)

In fact, he was so cranky, we each had to take turns entertaining him outside the restaurant. Below he was talking to Great-Grandpa and telling him all about the moon.

When we got home again, he cheered up...especially after I gave him a sleeve of whole wheat ritz crackers. He is his father's son :)
We love you Joshua! Happy Birthday, you silly donut!

Joshua's 2nd Birthday Bash!

Today we celebrated Joshua's 2nd birthday. We decided to have it early so that Aunt Judy and Uncle Tom could take part in the festivities. It was a lot of fun..and although Joshua got a bit overwelmed a couple of times, he ended with a bang :) Thanks Grandma (Nana) and Grandpa for the cute cake!

The theme was Elmo! Aunt Janet was kind enough to volunteer her garage and backyard for the party.

We played Ring-Around-the-Rosie - One of Joshua's new favorite games.

We finger painted.

We played Elmo-Bean-Bag Toss...If it weren't for Aunt Judy's artistic abilities we would have never had this game :).

We blew bubbles.

We had an Elmo pinata!

We ate cake!

We danced with Elmo.

We opened presents...this one, a favorite friend...Buzz Lightyear!

And some of us slept when it was all done....Hee hee...Aunt Amanda will never forgive me for this one!
Happy Birthday Joshua!

First Days Back in Texas

We are visiting Amarillo for a couple of weeks to celebrate Joshua's 2nd birthday and Mi's (J's great-grandmother) 70th birthday. He is having a lot of fun as usual. I just wanted to put a couple of pics up...the first, taken tonight, reminds me so much of when he was younger. Something about those blue eyes beaming from the hooded jacket. Just too sweet....

This last one is just a reminder of two of Joshua's favorite things. GUITARS and Crock shoes. Grandma, or Nana as we are trying to call her, bought him so new Lightening McQueen crocks...he rarely takes them off ...yes, he even sleeps in them.
