Happy Birthday Joshua (Part One: Bouncing & Making Capes)

The Scene: 50+ RSVPs, 2 bouncy houses, 24 capes, 60+ spiderman cupcakes, 20 balloons, hot & humid Saturday morning...and one birthday boy!
A Superhero Birthday Party!

The party began with bouncing, cape-making, and lunch...

The cape makers (without Tasha I would have never finished the capes.)

Apparently, cape making is serious business!

The finished products.

Iron man gearing up...

Part 2: Calling all superheroes!

"Guess what everyone: Sniper Sam and Dangerous Daniel have come and stolen all of Joshua's birthday presents. Do I have any superheroes who can help save the day?"

"Better load up on some superpowers (aka: water balloons)"
"We better be really quiet and we sneak into their hideout"
"ATTACK"

Defeated...ha ha ha ha aha...

Part Three: Cake & Presents!

The cupcakes were one of my favorite aspects of the party. My friend and aspiring pastry chef, Marisa, was kind enough to make chocolate-mouse stuffed vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. They were iced with red icing with black webbing piped on top. They were AMAZING!

A man and his glove :)

I am not sure if he got enough stuff! HA! What a great birthday with some pretty awesome friends!

Meet Georgia

Joshua is home. Sam (my brother) has moved in. And now, we have a new member of the family, Ms. Georgia.

I think I now have a pack.

Reading Cesar Milan (a.k.a. The Dog Whisperer). :)

Homemaking Pt. 1

For nearly a month now, my family. Matt, Tasha, and I have spent countless hours getting the our new home ready to move in to. There are a few minor things to be done (putting doors back on, for instance) in the short term, and I still have some long term plans, but I am really really happy with all of our hard work. Here are some before and afters of three of the back rooms (guest bathroom, Joshua's room, and Master bedrooom). More of the front of the house to come when I finish hanging pictures.

Guest Bathroom

Just in case you missed it...the wallpaper in the guest bathroom was Raggedy Ann and Andy !!!

Master Bedroom

Probably the closest thing to a grown-up room that I have ever had.
